08 October 2024, Las Vegas: GSMA MWC Las Vegas 2024 opens today at the Las Vegas Convention Center, West Hall. With a focus around the event themes of 5G EdgeCloud, AI Networks and Enterprise Transformation, this year’s edition of MWC Las Vegas is dedicated to showcasing the power and potential of 5G for enterprise IT.
Over the course of the event, from the show floor to the main stage and in event summits and forums, we will hear how 5G transforms the way enterprises operate and compete across vertical sectors. MWC Las Vegas brings together the entire digital mobile ecosystem in one place and spotlights how 5G can make enterprises more efficient, resilient and competitive.

Mobile Economy North America Report 2024
The GSMA today launched its annual Mobile Economy North America Report, key findings of the report include:
- 5G connectivity is emerging as a powerful driver of GDP growth with its contribution to GDP projected to exceed $210 billion in 2030, accounting for more than 15% of North America’s overall mobile economic impact.
- Beyond GDP, the mobile ecosystem supports 2.7 million jobs (directly and indirectly) and makes a significant contribution to public sector funding, with $130 billion raised through taxation in 2023.
- By mid-2024 5G accounted for over 55% of connections and by 2030 its projected to be 90% of connections.
- 5G fixed wireless access (FWA) services have also gained significant traction, with the US reaching nearly 10 million FWA subscribers at the end of Q2 2024.
In addition, GSMA Intelligence launched a new report yesterday, highlighting an addressable market of more than $400bn for telcos looking to grow revenues in the enterprise space – equating to approximately 35% of the existing mobile operator revenue base worldwide.
MWC Las Vegas Summits and Keynotes
The GSMA welcomes connectivity leaders to the keynote stage including Intel Corporation, Nvidia, Qualcomm, T-Mobile for Business, Verizon Business and more. The keynotes include:
- Keynote 1, Powering the Future of Enterprise, will explore how 5G is bringing a new level of enhanced capabilities that go beyond connectivity, enabling a wide set of vertical use cases;
- Keynote 2, A New Era of Intelligence, is highly recommended for anyone looking to understand the transformative potential of AI;
- Keynote 3, Perpetual Change in a Digital World looks at how, in this time of accelerating change driven by technology, we need to ensure there is equal opportunity for all;
- Keynote 4, From Engagement to Empowerment: a Network of Resilience, will focus on the close collaboration between government agencies, regulatory bodies and tech companies to help the U.S. maintain its position as a leader in next-gen technology.
Having started with insights shared by CIOs at the curtain raising CIO Summit on October 7, MWC Las Vegas will feature a series of half-and full-day summits across its agenda, showcasing how 5G, APIs and other connected technologies are driving value for enterprises.
Connected Industries will showcase the transformative impact of mobile connectivity on vertical sectors. Summits in the Connected Industry program feature leading figures from the vertical sectors championing innovations in mobile connectivity and cover the role of AI in airport operations, the technologies driving Industry 4.0 and how IoT is enabling smart cities.
They include the Connected Aviation Summit, Connected Car Summit, Manufacturing Summit, Government, Homeland Security & Defense Summit and Sports & Entertainment Summit.
The Private Network Summit explores how private networks and edge computing are revolutionizing Industry 4.0 through enhanced security, low-latency, and network slicing capabilities. And the Open 5G IoT Forum will explore how RedCap in IoT and Non-Terrestrial Networks are enhancing connectivity choices, making IoT solutions more accessible for customers. Meanwhile, the GSMA’s Open Gateway & DevCon Summit, will bring together experts to discover how network APIs are fostering collaboration, innovation and monetization. Other summits include the Non-Terrestrial Networks Summit and the eSIM Summit.
The GSMA’s Tech4Girls program returning to Las Vegas as part of the EQUALS Her Digital Skill Coalition.
