Session Description

We would like to welcome all those who are interested in the Internet of Things to join with members of the GSMA IoT Community to explore and learn about the work we do and see the resources that are available that will build and grow your business, With new and evolving connectivity choices in the Internet of Things, this Forum will help to demystify the choices that customers and CSP’s face in making IoT Solutions as simple as possible so that IoT becomes mainstream in the customers products and operations.

We will explore how RedCap in IoT is emerging in some markets and the benefits and features it will provide. How NTN Operators are scaling up commercial operations and partnering with Mobile Network Operators to provide extensive coverage capabilities to meet customer needs. We shall look at new case studies and solutions that other new technologies will bring e.g. Ambient IoT, making it easier for customers’ needs in security, geography and connectivity in IoT.

10:10-10:25 - The Future of IoT - Cameron Coursey, Vice President, AT&T Connected Solutions

Join us for a dynamic talk exploring the future of IoT with asset management, smart label and video streaming technologies that are set to transform industries. Learn how advanced asset tracking can help eliminate supply chain blind spots and provide increased visibility and control. We’ll discuss innovative video solutions that can help cut costs and deliver secure, high-quality streaming. This session offers actionable insights to keep you ahead in the fast-evolving IoT ecosystem.

10:25-10:40 - Key trends in IoT connectivity - Matt Hatton, Founding Partner, Transforma Insights

This session will explore the key technology, regulatory and commercial factors that are influencing the delivery of cellular-based IoT connectivity, and the impact on the market. Transforma Insights undertakes extensive work with MNOs, MVNOs, enterprise adopters and the wider IoT connectivity ecosystem to understand those trends that will influence how services are delivered in future.

The session will address technology developments impacting the space, including new approaches to harnessing 5G for IoT, trends in adoption of Low Power Wide Area technologies, the emerging opportunity in hybrid cellular-satellite, and approaches to platforms and middleware. Another timely subject for consideration is the fast-evolving eSIM/remote SIM provisioning landscape, particularly the arrival of SGP.32, and its impact.

The wider spectrum of IoT products and services associated with IoT connectivity will also be discussed, including those related to vertical solutions, devices and sensors, data management, consulting services and AI, as well as emerging commercial models and new regulatory considerations. Finally, it will look at growth trends in the IoT space.

10:40-11:05 - Panel Session: GSMA IoT Community

As IoT continues to grow and scale in multi-million connectivity projects e.g. smart metering , together with the deployment of 5G will bring opportunity and challenges for IoT providers and their end customers. The new GSMA IoT SIM specification is a welcome addition providing enhanced OTA capabilities.

Multi-bearer connectivity is now becoming a reality with Public/Private Networks teaming up with new Satellite Operators with new LEO Technology being the ideal partner for LPWAN. Emerging technologies like AI/ML and RedCap will have a profound impact on IoT. Hear from our panellists how they are embracing these opportunities to create more effective IoT solutions for their customers.
