Slayton S. Stewart is a seasoned executive in the wireless industry, with over 25 years of experience in senior management positions. Since 2005, he has been the Chief Executive Officer of Carolina West Wireless, a leading wireless communications company based in North Carolina. In this role, Slayton oversees all strategic and tactical initiatives of the company.
Before joining Carolina West Wireless, Slayton served as Regional Vice President for Dobson Communications Corporation from 2001 to 2004, where he managed the North Region, including Michigan, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. Prior to that, he served as General Manager for Dobson, managing the operations in Georgia, Kentucky, and Tennessee. He also worked as Controller and Business Manager for American Cellular Corporation, formerly PriCellular Corporation.
Before his tenure in the telecommunications industry, Slayton held various management positions, including Group Controller and Vice President of Operations, for Equity Insurance Managers, Inc. and related subsidiaries.
Slayton is an active member of the professional community and has served on the Board of Directors for Branch Communications, a privately held Tower Company. He is also Chairman of the Board for CTIA, and a former Chairman and current Director for the Competitive Carriers Association. Additionally, he has served on the Board of Directors for the North Carolina 911 Board and The Data Center, a privately held company providing billing solutions. He has also served on the Board of Directors and Finance Committee for The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber of Commerce and as Secretary/Treasurer for Mahoning Valley Sports Charities, Inc.
Slayton holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Wake Forest University and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting from The University of Kentucky. He also holds a Certified Public Accounting (CPA) designation in Kentucky.
