Eric Walker

Speaker Bio

Eric has worked in cellular & wireless communications and IT Services businesses for over 25 years. He has held roles from real estate site acquisition specialist to VP of Operations, and many roles in between, including Head of Network Deployment Strategy for a global networking entity. Holding the P&L for divisions of three different services companies during his career has given him insight into operating a successful professional services company.

Eric has driven several industry-first wireless initiatives. He was the first to negotiate the contract to provide telecom services to federal government agencies in a major metropolitan area by a local service provider. He led the first telecom decommission/recommission including – site selection, RF-integration, real estate & zoning, construction & deconstruction, and integration & commissioning to form one combined national network. He deployed the first cellular backhaul network by a cable company that evolved from $0 revenue into a $1 billion business. He built and managed the First TV white space for wireless deployment for a hyperscaler. He designed the wholesale network for both US and Mexico, with the objective of commoditizing and trading wireless spectrum on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

Fun Fact: Eric was married at Signal Hill in St. John’s, Newfoundland, where the first transatlantic wireless signal message was received in 1901, and the first wireless transmission of the human voice was completed in 1920. He joined Kyndryl three years ago, performing roles of client technical architect, network seller, 5G SME, and now N&E Practice technical leader.
