GSMANA RIG #97 Day Two – Wednesday, October 15th
Attendees must be pre-registered and approved for this session.
The GSMA North America Regional Interest Group (RIG) #97 brings together industry leaders, technical experts, and decision-makers from across the region’s telecommunications ecosystem to collaborate on advancing mobile connectivity.
Day Two will expand the conversation with dedicated sessions on fraud prevention, network security, vertical applications, and interconnection. Discussions will highlight workforce empowerment initiatives and technical updates on roaming, interoperability, and messaging—ensuring participants leave with actionable insights to strengthen both operations and strategy across the region.
Fontainebleau Las Vegas – Level 6
NA Fraud and Security Group (1:00 PM – 3:00 PM)
The NA Fraud and Security Group will examine current threats impacting telecom networks and best practices to mitigate them. Topics will include fraud detection, prevention techniques, and collaborative security initiatives.
NA Fraud and Security: Post Quantum Workshop (3:30 PM – 5:00 PM)
This workshop will explore the implications of post-quantum cryptography for the telecommunications sector. Experts will discuss timelines, transition strategies, and industry preparations for a quantum-secure future.
NA Vertical Applications (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
The NAVA session will spotlight vertical use cases of mobile networks and cross-industry collaboration, with a focus on emerging UAS developments. Key topics include the new BVLOS regulation, digital airspace management, Drone APIs, and ongoing efforts in drone testing and benchmarking cellular networks to support safe and scalable drone operations.
NA Wireless Empowerment and Education (WEE) (1:00 PM – 2:00 PM)
The WEE session will highlight initiatives that expand access to the wireless industry. Members will attend the Tech Careers Bootcamp hosted at MWCLV25 for students and young professionals interested in the industry.
NA WAS/IDS Group (1:00 PM – 5:00 PM)
The NA WAS/IDS Group will address roaming, interconnection, and messaging issues relevant to operators in the region. Key updates on standards, testing, and interoperability will be discussed to ensure efficient cross-network communication.
