The new second-generation Type 2GD features Sony Altair’s advanced ALT1350 chipset delivering proprietary packaging technology, with the lowest power consumption in a small size, contributing to a feature-rich and easy-to-use solution for IoT applications.
This is the first IoT cellular solution on the market offering ultra-low power supporting iSIM and edge processing with multiple LPWA communication protocols, including non-terrestrial networks (NTN) satellite connectivity provisions in a single system-on-chip LTE (SoC) package.
The Type2GD has several onboard options for location tracking, including new Wi-Fi-based positioning for indoor tracking as well as cell tower and GNSS tracking.
