Jamie Gosney

Speaker Bio

Jamie originally trained at LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) in 1976. He has toured the US and UK with various music acts and musical theatre productions, and served time operating sound on West End shows, so has a wealth of experience in professional audio. Jamie also has more than 35 years’ experience in the design and installation of audio systems in major venues across the UK, Europe and Middle East.

Jamie is now the Creative Director and Owner of specialist immersive audio company Sonosphere Ltd. Jamie started experimenting with immersive audio when he was Head of Sound for Imagination at the Millennium Dome in 1999. With experience of engineering and production in recording studios, live sound and, more recently, spatial audio over IP for broadcast and live streaming, his enthusiasm, passion, and vision for high quality audio in all areas of entertainment and its associated industries has culminated in developing Sonosphere’s team and creative services to cover every aspect of immersive audio from production through to delivery. Sonosphere were honoured to be the audio partners and trials leaders for the multi-award-winning UK government funded 5G Festival Project.

The final showcase of the 5G Festival project, held in March this year, showcased 21 musicians playing live, as one band, spread over three venues 70 miles apart, with a live audience in two of the venues. The whole show was broadcast, from all three venues to people watching around the world on consumer devices - this truly was a world first!

Jamie is delighted to be back in Las Vegas – his last visit was in 1978 when he was a young Front of House sound engineer for Doug Henning’s World of Magic, a 90-minute show that was performed at the Las Vegas Hilton.
